Burnt Butter Carrots

This recipe goes way back in my family, I’m pretty sure my great-grandmother used this very same recipe. I love this side dish. In my opinion, one of the best ways to make carrots. Once you try it, I’m sure you will feel the same.

Although a very simple ingredient list, these carrots deliver a punch of flavor. They’re easy to make too. Please let me know how you like them.

INGREDIENTS

4-5 carrots sliced (or 1 bag of baby carrots)

1/2 stick (2tbsp) butter

Salt

Water

DIRECTIONS

    1.    Slice the carrots into bite size pieces

    2.    In a medium pot, start boiling the water. Make sure to always add a dash of salt to the water.

    3.    Once the water is boiling, add the carrots. Boil until starting to get soft, but still a little firm.

    4.    Drain the water. Leave carrots in colander. Or separate container

    5.    Put the butter into the pot and put on medium heat.

    6.    Cook butter, stirring occasionally, until almost caramelized or light golden brown in color.

    7.    Add drained carrots to the butter

    8.    Add the salt and stir occasionally for about 7-10 minutes.

    9.    Take off heat and enjoy.
